HOW IS COSMETIC LABIAPLASTY DONE?

The procedure can be performed using a variety of techniques, including using a scalpel, laser, or radiofrequency device. It is usually performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia
WHAT ARE THE SURGERY TECHNIQUE FOR LABIAPLASTY?

Option 1: Trim Technique – a cut is made in a straight line fashion, to trim the excess edges of the labial tissue
Option 2 : Wedge Tehnique – a cut is made in a wedge fashion, more suitable for moderate excess labial tissue
Option 3 : Hockey Stick Technique ( combination of Trim and Wedge Technique) – usually indicated for large or excessive excess tissue of the labia.
HOW LONG IS THE PROCEDURE?
The procedure typically range between 15 to 30 minutes per side.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF COMPLICATIONS FOR COSMETIC LABIAPLASTY?
This procedure is particulary of minimal risk as it is pretty straightforward to perform.
The usual surgery risks are :
a) infection of surgical sites
b) bleeding from incision sites
c) wound breakdown
d) undesirable labial shape post-operatively
e) unsightly scars

HOW IS THE POST-OPERATIVE RECOVERY PROCESS?
The sutures will dissolve by itself after 2 weeks. You will be prescribed antibiotics and analgesia to take home for 3 days and the doctor will see again after 1 week to reassess the wounds.
Pain is usually very minimal.
